Inspired by South African photographer Mike Mike’s project The Face of Tomorrow, a team of experimental psychologists at a Scottish university have blended thousands of faces together to reveal what the typical woman’s face looks like in 41 different countries across the globe. While being described as average is generally not considered a compliment, these computer-generated depictions of the ‘average woman’ are very flattering – warm eyes, flawless skin, and youthful and symmetrical faces.

Using the eyes as a focus, the team layered transparent images over one another before using computer logic to deduct and allow the most common features to become most prominent. The end result is rather stunning.
